Meet Olivia and Caitlin!
Olivia recently joined COVEY as a Group Facilitator. She kindly shared a little bit about herself.
What inspired you to join our team, and what are you most excited about in your new role?
One of the reasons that I joined COVEY was that I wanted to gain experiences working with different groups of people and I think COVEY offers a great opportunity and insight into working alongside people from different backgrounds. I was particularly interested in the Group Facilitator role as I felt it was an opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and build up new skills that I wouldn't have been able to otherwise.
What are you looking forward to doing or working on at COVEY?
I am looking forward to getting settled in, learning something new each week, meeting new people and really get the hang of the job role. I'm also looking forward to getting creative and planning some fun things for the children and young people!
What’s a skill, hobby, or fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
One hobby that I take part in that not a lot of people know or expect is horse riding. I have recently come back to it after a 4-year break.
What achievement are you most proud of?
An achievement that I am most proud of is earning my first-class BSc degree in psychology this year.
Anything else you'd like to share?
Everyone at COVEY has been so lovely and welcoming, and I’m looking forward to meeting everyone as I settle in.
Caitlin recently joined COVEY as a Family Support Worker. Read on to learn a little bit about what motivated her to join the team!
What inspired you to join our team, and what are you most excited about in your new role?
I was inspired to join COVEY because of the amazing work the organisation does to support children, young people and families. I really value the emphasis on building strong, supportive relationships and creating positive change in the community, and I knew I wanted to be part of that mission.
What are you looking forward to doing or working on at COVEY?
I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone – both the team and the young people and families we support. I am excited to be involved in projects where I can make a difference and learn along the way.
What’s a skill, hobby, or fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
I love playing badminton! It’s something I enjoy doing in my free time – it keeps me active and is a great way to switch off and recharge.
What achievement are you most proud of?
I’m really proud of recently achieving a First-Class Honours Degree in Childhood and Youth Studies. It was a big challenge, but I learned so much and it’s given me a strong foundation for the work I’m passionate about.
Anything else you'd like to share?
I’m really excited to be part of COVEY and to get to know everyone on the team. I’m looking forward to learning from everyone, contributing where I can and being part of such a supportive and inspiring team!
