COVEY Helps Young People Explore Careers Through GROW Partnership

COVEY continues to support young people in exploring future career opportunities through its partnership with Developing the Young Workforce (DYW). Together, DYW and COVEY deliver the Glasgow Regional Opportunities for Work (GROW) programme.

The GROW programme connects young people with employers from a wide range of industries, giving them valuable insight into different career pathways and helping them make informed decisions about their future. Through interactive sessions, participants gain a better understanding of the skills, qualifications and opportunities available across a variety of sectors.

Most recently, COVEY supported a group of S3 pupils from Kirkintilloch High School in East Dunbartonshire, who took part in a careers session with RSPB Scotland. The visit introduced the young people to careers within the conservation sector, providing first-hand insight into environmental work and the diverse roles available within the industry.

The session highlights COVEY's ongoing commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for young people, while extending its support to communities beyond Lanarkshire through strong partnership working.

Reflecting on the experience, one of the young participants shared how valuable the opportunity had been and explained why programmes like GROW are so important in helping young people discover potential career paths and build confidence for the future.
