Welcome to your September COVEY Team Newsletter! Here you’ll find general updates, hear from some of COVEY’s young people and one of our lovely volunteers and enter our next prize draw!

Star Photo!

There were so many amazing photos from across Summer, which were shared at our last online Team Time, but this is today’s star photo. This happy one was taken of at Wiston Lodge, where these young people from COVEY Connect got the chance to try out some water activities!

Young People’s Voices

Over the last few months, we’ve been capturing the voices of more and more young people at COVEY.

They have very kindly shared some of their experiences and the ways that COVEY has helped them.

This short video gives you a snapshot of some of their contributions.

    Challenge Poverty Week is coordinated by The Poverty Alliance and takes place from Monday the 5th to Sunday the 11th of October.

    COVEY will be running a stall at the Regent Centre in Hamilton on the 8th and 9th of October.

    All of our Young Ambassadors will be taking part, alongside Chioma, Rita and Kiran. It looks set to be a great event!

    COVEY were at the South Lanarkshire College Freshers Day recently, sharing all the ways volunteering can benefit students.

    There was lots of engagement throughout the day, with many people sharing the advice they would give to their younger selves.

    Some of our Young Ambassadors also got involved, highlighting the ways COVEY has positively impacted their lives.

    COVEY’s Flourishing Families project is continuing to expand to include support for families with children transitioning into Primary 1.

    We consulted with some of our parents/carers on what support would have been beneficial to them during their children’s transition. This was great and gave us lots of valuable insight!

    There are some new and updated materials available in the office.

    These include an updated Volunteering leaflet, which now has QR codes to online content, and a Project Overview sheet that might be helpful when trying to explain all the things that we do at COVEY!
