Flourishing Families
“I don’t know what I would do without the support of COVEY just now. I find communicating with the school really difficult and I struggle to say what I have to say without it sounding wrong. This support is invaluable to my family.”
Carer (Supported by COVEY through Flourishing Families)
For children, young people and families experiencing poverty, isolation or barriers to school engagement, key changes in education can be particularly challenging. COVEY’s Flourishing Families project works with partner schools and families to provide relationship-based, whole-family support at these important stages.
Through one-to-one and group support, we help children and young people build confidence, resilience, friendships and a sense of belonging. We also support parents and carers to strengthen routines, engage with school, access wider help and reduce poverty-related barriers.
COVEY is also establishing an Early Transitions pathway from Nursery to Primary 1, helping families build confidence, routines and relationships with school at an earlier stage.
